How To Get Luck at Fashion Sales

Having never had any luck at sales, I’ve asked Cosmo’s fashion coordinator,who looks great and buys about 30 percent of her clothes on sale and the rest at discount stores, her rules:
- Good things to buy on sale: lingerie, shoes and boots, coats. Nearly all coats go on sale in January. If you need one before that, just suffer and wait!
- Shop expensive stores and departments during sales. This may be the only time you’ll go near them, but here’s a chance to study good merchandise and possibly acquire.
- Ideally you try to fill up holes in your wardrobe, but you can go crazy trying to find the perfect navy blazer or wine slacks because those aren’t what’s on sale. Just try for great classic stuff that will “upgrade” your wardrobe . . . something good and terrific that will enhance what you already have. Once in a while you can abandon all reason and buy something insanely impractical but beautiful.
